How Veil and Verse Creates Your Perfect Wedding Poem

by Rachel @ Veil and Verse

I have collaborated with Rachel from Veil and Verse, who writes bespoke poetry for your wedding. Below Rachel describes the process of how she creates your perfect, bespoke poem.

Veil and Verse, a bespoke wedding poetry writing service, was born out of Rachel’s own wedding planning experience. One afternoon she spent hours and hours scrolling through poems

and readings on Google, but couldn’t find anything that was personal enough. It was at that very moment that she decided to write her own poem to be read aloud during their wedding ceremony. After that demand for her poems grew, so she finally decided to launch Veil and Verse as an official business. Here, Rachel describes the process of how she creates the perfect poem for each bride and groom she works with.

1. Your Free Phone Consultation

The first stage of creating your bespoke wedding poem, is to take up the offer of a free consultation call. This is an optional step, but many couples find it useful to share their ideas before they make a purchase. A consultation call is completely free of charge and there is no obligation! Once you have discussed your visions, you will then have the option to choose the type of poem you’re looking for.

2. Choose Your Poem Type

You may already have a good idea of what type of bespoke poem you’re looking for. Luckily, Veil and Verse have a whole host of options for you to choose from. Ranging from 4 lines to 48 lines, you can pick a poem that suits your needs and your budget.

Here are some of the options you can choose from:

-8 line rhyme for your invites

-8 line rhyme for ‘Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” cards

-4 line rhymes for individual favours for your guests (one of the most popular choices!)

-24, 36 or 48 line rhyme for your wedding speech (best man, bride, bridesmaid, father of the bride or groom)

-24, 36 or 48 line rhyme to be read aloud at your ceremony

-24, 36 or 48 line rhyme for your vows

Once you have chosen the type of rhyme that is right for your wedding day, you can make your purchase. This is where the fun really starts!

3. Fill in Our Questionnaire

As soon as you place your order for a bespoke wedding poem you will be sent a questionnaire. You will be asked plenty of simple questions about yourselves, your wedding day and the desired vibe you want from your poem.

Are you looking to make people laugh with a funny poem? Do you want to provoke emotion

with a heartfelt vow? Or do you want to lighten the mood of your ceremony with some witty anecdotes about how you both met? You will have the chance to express all of these details in the questionnaire and much more! You will be prompted to answer questions such as:

-What are your likes/dislikes?

-What is your favourite movie, hobby, food or holiday destination?

-Do you have any special talents?

-Are there any funny stories to mention?

As you can see, we really get a good insight into your personalities. This gives us the information we need to craft your perfect wedding poem.

4. Let Us Work Our Magic!

Using the information you have given us, we will put together all of the relevant facts and start creating your poem. We want to create an accurate portrait of you or the recipient of the poem, which is why none of our poems will ever be the same. Using clever couplets, witty jokes and facts that are true, we will carefully craft a poem that your guests will never forget. It takes us around two to six weeks to perfect your poem, so be sure to place your order in plenty of time before the big day.

5. Receive Your Perfect Poem

Once we have completed your poem you will be sent a beautifully laid out digital copy via email. This ensures that your poem reaches you quickly and safely, without the risk of it getting lost in the post! If you aren’t completely happy with the final piece we will happily make any tweaks necessary at no extra cost. Most of our clients are over the moon first time round and many also choose to print and frame their bespoke wedding poems as a keepsake!

So that’s the process of creating your perfect piece of poetry for your wedding day. We believe that wedding poems and readings should be unique to every couple; why settle for a plain old rhyme, when Veil and Verse can create a show stopping one!
